Madam Sailmaker did what she could for what is a pretty sad piece of canvas - some patches that should keep us going for a while as long as we are gentle with it. While the mast was down I took the opportunity to replace the masthead double block with two separate blocks as suggested by several folks on the Wharram forums. I took the simple route tying the blocks through the mast head with a single length of 5mm dyneema - the breaking strain is huge for this type of line and it should be plenty strong. After a solo mast raising, I tested the new set-up out and it indeed works much more smoothly than the standard double block.
