Sailing With Sergio

My old friend Sergio came to visit from Italy so we had to go for a sail of course. We went for a long run across Suisun Bay doing 6-7 knots on a warm sunny day with a light westerly breeze, and anchored at Suisun Slough for lunch and a beer. Sergio sailed most of the way and found Little Cat to be well-balanced at the helm (see the movie clip below). After lunch we tacked home to windward and made very quick progress. Little Cat sailed most of the way without a hand on the helm, and we steamed to windward into a 20 knot breeze past the Martinez Bridge, hitting 8.5 knots with the outgoing tide. This trip: best corrected speed 10.9 knots, best 500 meters 9.6 knots, best nautical mile 7.5 knots, 22 nautical miles in all.

Sergio, this last one is for geographical orientation - cheers mate!
